There was a dense forest where all the trees grew straight and tall, with broad, shapely trunks. However, one tree had a crooked and shapeless trunk.
The crooked tree was sad. He thought, "How ugly I am! All the others are straight and shapely. I alone have a crooked trunk."
One day, a woodcutter came to the forest. He looked around and said, "I will cut all the trees here, except that crooked one. It is of no use to me."
He cut down all the straight trees. The crooked tree then understood that being different could have its own advantages.
