A man owned two horses to carry his loads. While working, the front horse performed well, but the rear one was lazy.
The man began transferring the lazy horse's load onto the front one. After moving it all, the lazy horse said to the hardworking one, "See how easy I have it now? You toil and sweat, but the harder you work, the more you'll suffer."
When they arrived at an inn, the owner said, "I don't need to keep two horses. I'd better feed all the food to the good horse and kill the lazy one. At least I can have its hide." And so he did.
