Once there was a dog who stole a piece of meat from a butcher's shop. As he was crossing a narrow bridge over a stream on his way home, he looked down and saw his own reflection in the water.
Mistaking it for another dog holding a larger piece of meat, he greedily tried to snatch it. He barked and lunged at the shadow. In doing so, he dropped his own meat into the water and lost everything.
