A Boeing 747 was flying through the night sky over the Pacific Ocean. The captain's voice came over the loudspeaker: "Ladies and gentlemen, one of our engines has malfunctioned. As a result, we will arrive in Tokyo approximately one hour late."
After a short while, the loudspeaker crackled to life again: "Everyone, a second engine out of our four has now failed. Consequently, our estimated arrival in Tokyo will be delayed by three hours." At this point, the passengers began to stir with unease. Someone muttered, "If another engine goes down, we'll be up here all night."
Moreover, one fellow became unbearably agitated and started shouting, "I've had enough! I won't fly on this awful plane anymore. Let me off right now!"
