Before, very few foreigners visited the southern foot of the Himalayas. Later, many Japanese tourists began to visit. It is said this was inspired by the honesty of a local boy.
One day, some Japanese photographers asked a local boy to buy them some bottles of beer. The task took the boy over three hours.
The next day, the boy volunteered to buy beer for them again. The photographers gave him a large sum of money. However, the boy did not return until the afternoon of the third day. The photographers began to talk amongst themselves, thinking the boy had cheated them.
On the third night, the boy knocked on the photographers' door. He explained that he had only found four bottles at one store. To get the remaining six, he had to climb over another mountain and cross a river. On his way back, three bottles broke. In tears, he presented the broken pieces to the photographers and returned the small change.
