Years ago in Scotland, the Clark family dreamed of moving to the United States. After years of saving, they secured passports and reservations for all eleven family members on a new liner.
The family was filled with anticipation. However, just seven days before departure, their youngest son was bitten by a dog. The doctor treated the wound but placed the family under a fourteen-day quarantine due to the risk of rabies.
Their dream was shattered. Overcome with disappointment and anger, Mr. Clark went to the dock to watch the ship depart without them, cursing his misfortune.
Five days later, tragic news arrived: the mighty Titanic had sunk, claiming hundreds of lives. The Clarks were supposed to be on that ship.
Upon hearing the news, Mr. Clark hugged his son, thanking him for saving the family. He thanked God for turning what seemed like a tragedy into a blessing.
Although we may not always understand, all things happen for a reason.
