One day, an owl flew persistently towards the east until it was completely exhausted. It stopped in a forest to rest, where a turtledove happened to be resting as well.
Hearing the owl panting, the turtledove asked, "Where are you going in such a hurry?"
The owl replied, "I am moving to the east."
"Why?" the turtledove inquired.
The owl explained, "The people in the west all say my cry is unpleasant and dislike me. I cannot stay there any longer. I must move to a new place."
The turtledove said, "Can you solve your problem by changing places? In my opinion, no matter where you move, it won't help."
The owl felt rather angry at these words but still asked in surprise, "Can you forecast the future?"
"It's very simple," the turtledove replied. "If you don't change your cry, the people in the east will dislike you all the same."
