A stag, chased by hounds, took refuge in a cave, hoping to be safe from his pursuers. Unfortunately, the cave was home to a lion, to whom the stag fell an easy prey.
"Woe is me!" cried the stag. "I am saved from the dogs only to fall into the clutches of a lion."
