The Crow and the Raven | 乌鸦与渡鸦

点击查看中英对照 收藏文章

A crow was jealous of the raven because the raven was considered a bird of good omen. The raven always attracted human attention, as people interpreted its flight to foretell future events.

Seeing some travelers approaching, the crow flew up into a tree. Perching on a branch, it cawed as loudly as it could. The travelers turned toward the sound, wondering what it might foretell. One of them said to his companion, "Let us proceed on our journey, my friend. It is only the caw of a crow, and its cry, as you know, is no omen."

Those who assume a character that does not belong to them only make themselves ridiculous.
