Why Bother Getting Up? | 何必当初

点击查看中英对照

In a mountain village, there lived a man named Wang Laowu, notorious for his laziness. Everyone called him "Lazy Laowu," but he never admitted it. Whenever someone called him that, he would glare and retort, "Who's lazy? I just don't want to waste my effort."

One day, he went out. He had barely taken a few steps when he stumbled and fell. He got up, walked a few more steps, and fell again. This time, he simply lay on the ground and refused to get up. He muttered to himself, "If I knew this would happen, why did I bother getting up in the first place?"
