There was a big river, and in it lived a big, bad fish. Every year, it demanded a boy or a girl to eat. The people had no choice but to send a child, or the fish would drown them.
The time came for Shally to be sent. Little Shally sat sobbing in a small boat in the middle of the river. Seeing her, the little fish felt sorry and wanted to help. "Don't cry, Shally," they said. "Let's think of a way." They found a knife and gave it to her.
When the big fish came to eat Shally, all the little fish swam up and nibbled at it, hurting it. Seizing the chance, Shally took out the knife and killed the big fish.
With the big fish dead, Shally and all the other children were saved.
