There were two brothers, aged four or five. Their bedroom windows were always closed, making the room dark. Seeing the bright sunshine outside, they felt envious.
The brothers discussed and said, "Let's bring some of that sunlight inside."
So, they took a broom and a dustpan to the terrace to sweep up the sunlight. Each time they carried the dustpan into the room, the sunlight inside it would disappear. They tried again and again, but no sunlight ever stayed in the house.
Their mother, busy in the kitchen, saw them and asked in surprise, "What are you doing?"
They replied, "The room is too dark. We're trying to bring the sunlight in."
Their mother smiled and said, "Just open the windows, and the sunlight will come in by itself. Why do you need to sweep it?"
