One day, Tony told a lie to his mother. That night, he felt very unhappy and did not want to play with the other children. He sat alone on the doorstep. Looking up at the sky, he saw the big, round moon. He felt it was looking down on him because it knew about his lie. He ran down the street to escape, but the moon kept following him.
Then he crept into the house and went to bed, but the moon watched him through the window. He pulled the sheet over his head but could not sleep. Finally, he crawled under the bed and lay there in the dark, thinking endlessly about the lie.
At last, he decided to tell his mother everything. He confessed the truth, and she forgave him. Tony promised never to lie again. He went back to bed and soon fell fast asleep, dreaming that the moon was smiling down upon him.
