A large store was holding a spring sale on shoes and boots. It was the first day, and the shoe department was crowded with women eagerly trying to buy them. There were all kinds of shoes and boots in a variety of colors, with prices significantly reduced. The store aimed to clear out as much old stock as possible to make room for new arrivals.
The cashiers were very busy. At one point, a woman approached a cashier with money in hand and said, "I don't need a bag, thank you. I'm wearing the shoes I just bought." She pointed to the shoes on her feet.
"Would you like a bag to put your old shoes in, then?" the cashier asked politely as she took the money.
"No, thank you," the woman replied promptly. "I've sold those to someone else."
