Sally was driving home from a business trip in Northern Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking by the roadside. The journey was long and quiet, so Sally stopped and offered her a ride. The woman accepted with a silent nod of thanks.
As they resumed the journey, Sally tried to make small talk, but the Navajo woman remained silent. Instead, she observed everything intently, studying every detail, until her eyes fell upon a brown bag on the seat next to Sally.
'What in bag?' the old woman asked.
Sally glanced at the bag and replied, 'It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband.'
The Navajo woman was silent for a moment. Then, with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said, 'Good trade.'
