The Mountain Climber | 登山者

A man was hiking in the mountains, enjoying the scenery, when he stepped too close to the edge and began to fall. In desperation, he grabbed a branch of a gnarled old tree growing from the cliffside.

Terrified, he assessed his situation. He was about 100 feet down a sheer cliff, with another 900 feet to the canyon floor below. One more slip would mean a fatal plummet.

"Help me!" he cried out. No answer came. He called out again and again, to no avail. Finally, he yelled, "Is anybody up there?"

A deep voice replied, "Yes, I am here."

"Who is it?"

"It is the Lord."

"Can you help me?"

"Yes, I can help."

"Help me!"

"Let go."

The man looked around in panic. "What?!"

"Let go. I will catch you."

After a moment's hesitation, the man asked, "Uh... Is there anybody else up there?"
