In the town square, a hostile crowd gathered, intent on stoning a prostitute to death. Jesus stepped forward from the crowd, raised his arms, and declared, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!"
The crowd fell silent in contrition, for none could claim to be sinless. Then, a frail, elderly woman hobbled forward, picked up a sizable rock, and struck the prostitute squarely between the eyes.
Jesus stood with his hands on his hips and said, "Sometimes, Mother, you really try my patience."
