A lawyer was examining a suspect to determine his mental fitness.
"Who was our first president?" asked the lawyer.
"Washington," replied the suspect.
"Right. And who was our second president?"
"John Adams," the suspect answered.
"Correct," said the lawyer.
He then stopped and asked no more questions. His friend whispered, "He's doing very well. Why don't you continue?"
The lawyer replied, "Because I'm not sure who the third president was myself."
