The Fox Who Served a Lion | 侍奉狮子的狐狸

点击查看中英对照 收藏文章

A lion had a fox to attend on him. Whenever they went hunting, the fox found the prey, and the lion fell upon it and killed it. Then they divided the spoils, but the lion always took a very large share, leaving the fox with a very small one.

This displeased the fox greatly, so he determined to set up on his own account. He began by trying to steal a lamb from a flock of sheep. However, the shepherd saw him and set his dogs on him. The hunter became the hunted and was soon caught and dispatched by the dogs.

Better servitude with safety than freedom with danger.
