Some businessmen were discussing advertising on television with great excitement. Since none of them had any prior experience with it, each held a different opinion.
At that moment, Mr. Grey, a car dealer who had once placed an advertisement, walked in.
"What are you talking about?" asked Mr. Grey.
"Does advertising actually work?" inquired one of the businessmen.
"Oh, yes, it works very quickly," replied Mr. Grey. "I once advertised for a watch-dog, offering a $100 reward."
"Did you get your dog back?"
"No," said Mr. Grey. "But that very night, three of my cars were stolen."
