A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year-old son waiting at the door.
"Daddy, may I ask you a question?"
"Sure, what is it?" replied the man.
"How much money do you make an hour?"
"That's none of your business," the man said angrily.
"Please tell me," pleaded the boy.
"If you must know, I make $20 an hour."
"Oh," the boy replied, head bowed. Then, looking up, he asked, "Daddy, may I borrow $10?"
The father was furious. "If this is just to buy a silly toy, go straight to your room! I work hard and don't have time for games."
The boy quietly went to his room. The man sat down, growing angrier. After an hour, he calmed down and felt he had been too harsh. He went to his son's room.
"Are you asleep?" he asked.
"No, I'm awake," replied the boy.
"I was too hard on you earlier," said the man. "Here's the $10 you asked for."
The little boy sat up, beaming. "Thank you, Daddy!" he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some crumpled bills.
Seeing the boy already had money, the man started to get angry again. "Why did you want more money if you already had some?" he grumbled.
"Because I didn't have enough, but now I do," the little boy replied. "Daddy, I have $20 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?"
