Not All Cut Off
Miles sometimes went to the barber's during working hours to get a haircut. This was against office rules, which stated that clerks had to get their hair cut on their own time. One day, while Miles was at the barber's, the office manager happened to come in for a haircut and sat right next to him.
"Hello, Miles," said the manager. "I see you're getting your hair cut on company time."
"Yes, sir, I am," Miles admitted calmly. "You see, sir, it grows during office hours."
"Not all of it," the manager replied at once. "Some of it grows in your own time."
"Yes, sir, that's quite true," Miles answered politely. "But I'm not having it all cut off."
