A man was traveling abroad in a small red car. One day, after leaving his car to go shopping, he returned to find its roof severely damaged. Some local boys informed him that an elephant was responsible. Skeptical, he followed them to a nearby circus.
The elephant's owner apologized, explaining, "My elephant has a big, round, red chair. He mistook your car for his chair and sat on it!" The owner provided a letter accepting responsibility and promising to pay for all damages.
Upon returning to his home country, customs officers doubted his story, accusing him of selling his new car abroad and buying an old one. It was only when the man presented the letter from the circus owner that the officers finally believed him.
