My family has a house in Marine City, less than two miles from where the "Morrow Road Haunting" is said to occur. My parents grew up riding their horses along that road.
Recently, my mother and I visited the area. We noticed the road is now paved and the old bridge is gone. We parked, put on our gloves, zipped up our coats, and began walking through the snow.
After crossing the ditch where the bridge once stood, my chest tightened and my heart began to race. I had never been to this exact spot before, but since recently discovering I am a psychic medium, my mother and I decided to venture to the 'site'.
Beyond the ditch, newer houses lined the sides, but only trees lay ahead. My mother pointed to the woods and said, "The story goes that this land has never been sold. Every time someone tried to build here, too many things went wrong, and people eventually gave up."
Though it was nearly midnight, the snow illuminated the ground well. We walked down a path into the woods. I knew we were in the right area, getting closer to where the house once stood, because I felt a tingling sensation throughout my body—a typical feeling for me when communicating with spiritual entities. After a short while, my mother felt too cold to continue, so we turned back toward the road.
About ten feet from the old bridge site, I lunged forward, startled. My mother turned to me with a nervous look. "What?!" she said anxiously. Hesitant, I knew she wouldn't believe an excuse. "Um, someone just tugged on the back of my hair." That was it—she was off and running.
She hurdled over a mound of plowed snow as fast as she could and jumped onto the pavement. "Wait a minute!" I said, stepping next to her and looking back at the land. "Just give me one minute." I could feel a strong presence, but my mother's expression made it clear she didn't want to stay near the area.
