A few years ago, a young man's beautiful bride died young. Yet, she visited him every night, only to vanish at dawn's first light. Desperate to keep her with him, he devised a plan to block out the sun. He ordered a tailor to make a thick curtain to prevent any sunlight from penetrating the paper-screen window.
Despite this, he failed. A strong gust of wind knocked over a candle near the curtain, igniting it, the window, and soon the entire room. The couple fled naked into the night, vanishing without a trace as the house burned to dust.
They were never seen again. Villagers speculated: some said they ascended to heaven for eternal bliss in paradise; others believed they descended to hell. One theory claimed the jealous husband set the fire; another suggested the bride had a ghostly lover; yet another thought she herself lit the blaze. No plausible explanation ever emerged.
Ultimately, the truth remains a mystery. Ghosts are born of imagination, and none have ever been caught.
