A wealthy matron is so proud of a valuable antique vase that she decides to have her bedroom painted the same color. Several painters try to match the shade, but none satisfies the eccentric woman.
Eventually, a confident painter approaches the task. The woman is pleased with his result, and he becomes famous.
Years later, after retiring and handing the business to his son, the father is asked a question: "Dad, how did you get those walls to match the vase so perfectly?"
"Son," he replies, "I painted the vase."
