Jupiter was about to marry and decided to celebrate by inviting all the animals to a banquet. They all came except the tortoise, much to Jupiter's surprise. When he next saw the tortoise, he asked why he had not attended.
"I don't care for going out," said the Tortoise. "There's no place like home."
Jupiter was so annoyed by this reply that he decreed that from that time forth, the tortoise must carry his house on his back, never able to leave home even if he wished.
