A Dell customer called technical support, complaining that he couldn't fax anything from his computer. After 40 minutes of troubleshooting, the technician discovered the man was attempting to fax a physical sheet of paper by holding it up to his monitor screen and pressing the "send" key.
Another customer contacted Compaq tech support, reporting that her brand-new computer wouldn't work. She explained that she had unpacked it, plugged it in, and then waited for 20 minutes for something to happen. When the technician asked what occurred when she pressed the power switch, she replied, "What power switch?"
