One day, Pikachu and Jigglypuff saw a rainbow. Not knowing what it was, they mistook it for another Pokémon and ran away in fear. Ash began searching for them but couldn't find them anywhere.
He asked Misty, Brock, and even the usually troublesome Team Rocket members, James and Jessie, for help, as they were being friendly that day. He also asked other Pokémon, but they ran off too, unaware of James and Jessie's good behavior.
Meanwhile, Pikachu and Jigglypuff had ended up at their favorite spot—the pool. Ash, Misty, Brock, James, and Jessie searched everywhere without success. They even asked the Pokémon Center Nurse for assistance, but she couldn't find them either.
A sick Pokémon named Eevee overheard the search and suggested they might be at the pool, as it was where they went when scared. The Nurse, along with Ash and the others, headed there.
Just as they arrived, two blue hawks named Sandy and Watery swooped down, nearly catching Pikachu and Jigglypuff. Seeing the danger, Ash and the group rushed to the rescue. Eevee bravely leaped from the Nurse's arms and bit the hawks, scaring them away.
Grateful for Eevee's help, Pikachu and Jigglypuff thanked her and helped her swim in the pool, which made her feel much better. Finally, all the Pokémon returned to Ash, who told them never to run away again—and they didn't.
