This story took place many summers ago. In a desert, perpetually dry and desolate, a young flower grew alone. Each day, she enjoyed the sun and asked, "When shall I grow up?"
The Sun would reply, "Be patient. With each touch of my rays, you grow a little."
She was filled with joy at the thought of bringing beauty to her sandy corner of the world. That was her sole desire: to add a little beauty to the world.
One day, a hunter passed by and accidentally stepped on her. As she lay dying, her sadness stemmed not from her impending death, but from the lost chance to fulfill her purpose.
Witnessing this, the Great Spirit said, "Indeed, she should live." He reached down, touched her, and restored her life. She grew into a beautiful flower, and because of her, that corner of the desert was transformed into a place of beauty.
