A man and his wife were sitting by their door, about to share a roasted chicken. When the man saw his aged father approaching, he hastily hid the chicken, unwilling to share.
The old man came, had a drink, and left. When the son went to retrieve the chicken, it had transformed into a great toad. The toad leaped onto his face and remained there permanently.
If anyone tried to remove it, the toad would glare venomously, as if ready to jump at them, so no one dared touch it. The ungrateful son was forced to feed the toad daily; otherwise, it would feed on his face. Thus, he wandered the world without rest.
