A man and his girlfriend were married in a large celebration attended by all their friends and family. The bride looked gorgeous in her white wedding gown, and the groom was dashing in his black tuxedo. Their love for each other was evident to everyone.
A few months later, the wife proposed an idea she had read in a magazine to strengthen their marriage. "Let's each write a list of the little things we find annoying about the other," she suggested. "Then we can discuss how to fix them together and be happier." The husband agreed.
They each went to separate rooms and spent the day thinking and writing. The next morning at breakfast, they decided to share their lists.
"I'll start," said the wife. She took out her list, which filled three pages. As she began reading her list of annoyances, she noticed tears forming in her husband's eyes.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing," he replied. "Keep reading."
She read all three pages, then neatly placed her list on the table. "Now, you read your list, and then we'll talk," she said happily.
Quietly, the husband stated, "I don't have anything on my list. I think you are perfect just the way you are. I don't want you to change anything for me. You are lovely and wonderful, and I wouldn't want to try and change anything about you."
Touched by his honesty, the depth of his love, and his complete acceptance of her, the wife turned her head and wept.
