A librarian is working at her desk when she notices a chicken patiently waiting in front of it. Catching the librarian's eye, the chicken squawks, "Book, book, book, BOOK!"
The librarian complies, placing a couple of books before the chicken, which quickly grabs them and leaves.
The next day, the chicken returns, drops the previous day's books on the desk, and squawks again, "Book, book, book, BOOK!" Though puzzled, the librarian finds more books for it.
On the third day, the now seemingly irritated chicken repeats its demand. Overcome by curiosity, the librarian fetches a pile of books and follows the departing chicken.
She trails it through the parking lot, down several blocks, and into a large park. The chicken vanishes into a small grove of trees. Following, the librarian finds a small marsh on the other side. There, the chicken stands beside a small frog, who is examining each book one by one. Drawing near, the librarian hears the frog say:
"Read it, read it, read it..."
