Three women die in an accident and go to heaven. Upon arrival, St. Peter tells them, "We have only one rule here: Don't step on the ducks." Heaven is indeed filled with ducks, making it nearly impossible to avoid them. Despite their best efforts, the first woman accidentally steps on one.
St. Peter immediately appears with the ugliest man she has ever seen. He chains them together and declares, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"
The next day, the second woman also steps on a duck. True to form, St. Peter arrives with another extremely ugly man and chains them together with the same admonishment.
Having witnessed this, the third woman is extremely careful. She manages for months without stepping on a single duck. One day, however, St. Peter approaches her with the most handsome man she has ever seen—very tall, tanned, and muscular. Without a word, St. Peter chains them together and leaves.
Puzzled, the woman asks, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"
The man replies, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck."
