Snow White awoke to find the seven dwarfs with their long beards standing by her bed. Frightened at first, she was reassured by their friendly words. They invited her to live with them but warned her to keep the door locked and never go outside, lest the wicked Queen find her.
Despite the warning, Snow White ventured into the garden one day. A servant of the Queen spotted her and reported her location. Enraged, the Queen devised a plan. She poisoned a red apple, disguised herself as an old woman, and went to the dwarfs' cottage.
"Would you like a lovely apple?" the Queen offered. To prove it was safe, she bit the white side herself. Snow White ate the red side and immediately fell down, lifeless. Satisfied, the Queen returned to her castle, where her magic mirror confirmed she was once again the fairest of all.
The dwarfs returned home to find Snow White dead. Heartbroken, they placed her in a glass coffin and carried it to a hilltop so all could see her beauty. As they were leaving, a Prince passed by. Struck by her beauty, he asked to take her to a hall of white stone in his father's garden.
As his servants lifted the coffin, one stumbled. The jolt dislodged the poisoned apple from Snow White's mouth. She awoke, bewildered. The Prince, captivated, asked her to be his Queen. They were married and lived happily ever after.
When the wicked Queen learned Snow White was alive and married to a Prince, she was overcome with fury and fell down dead. Snow White lived in joy, and the dwarfs visited her every year.
