Lord Ye's Love of Dragons |

English Original

Lord Ye was famous for his love of dragons. In his house, dragons were painted on the walls and carved into the pillars and bedroom walls. Dragons were everywhere, each one baring its teeth and brandishing its claws.

A real dragon in heaven was delighted to hear of Lord Ye's fondness.

One day, the sky darkened with wind, thunder, and rain. The real dragon flew to Lord Ye's home. It poked its head through the southern window and coiled its tail around the northern one, rattling the entire house.

At the sight of the real dragon, Lord Ye was frightened out of his wits. He trembled all over and hurriedly hid.

Thus, it turned out that Lord Ye liked only painted and carved imitations of dragons, not real ones.
