Dong Guochang's Many Wishes | 东郭敞的许多愿望

English Original

Dong Guochang, a man from the state of Qi, had always dreamed of becoming a millionaire and frequently planned how to spend his imaginary fortune.

One of his students, who could barely make ends meet, asked to borrow some money. Not only did Dong Guochang refuse, but he also told his student, "I intend to use this money to buy an official position to bring glory to my family. Therefore, I cannot lend it to you."

Angered by these words, the student left in a huff and went to the state of Song.
