Managerial Mishaps |

English Original

A corporate manager suffered a heart attack. His doctor advised him to spend several weeks on a farm to relax. The manager went, but after a couple of days, he grew bored and asked the farmer for some work.

The farmer assigned him the task of cleaning up all the cow manure. The farmer thought that for a city office worker, this job would take over a week. To his surprise, the manager finished it in less than a day.

The next day, the farmer gave the manager a more difficult job: to behead 500 chickens. The farmer was sure the manager would fail, but by day's end, the task was completed.

The following morning, with most farm work done, the farmer asked the manager to sort a bag of potatoes into two boxes: one for small potatoes and one for large ones. At the end of the day, the farmer found the manager sitting in front of the full bag, with both boxes empty.

The farmer asked, "How could you handle such difficult jobs the first few days but fail at this simple task?"

The manager replied, "Listen, all my life I've been cutting heads and dealing with crap. Now you're asking me to make decisions!"
