Missing Cat |

English Original

Mrs. Brown, a 56-year-old woman living alone in a trailer park near Clovis, is desperately seeking help to find her missing cat, Clyde. The seven-year-old, completely white feline with green eyes and half of its left ear missing disappeared over a month ago.

After Clyde missed several meals, Mrs. Brown called the police. The officer, irritated, clarified that they handle missing persons, not pets, and suggested she ask neighbors or put up flyers. Mrs. Brown decided a billboard would be more effective.

She found an empty billboard off the interstate highway, called the number on it, and was quoted $3,000 a month to display Clyde's enlarged photo. Despite concerns about visibility for fast-moving traffic, she was assured the interstate was congested most of the day. Mrs. Brown used most of her savings to rent the billboard for a month.

The month passed, but Clyde did not return. Now with little savings left, Mrs. Brown contacted the local newspaper hoping for help to fund another month's rental. So far, no one has come forward.
