English Original
On Fajiu Hill, there grew many mulberry bushes. Among them lived a bird resembling a crow, yet distinguished by its colorful head, white bill, and red claws. Its call echoed its name: Jingwei. Legend says this bird was the youngest daughter of Emperor Yandi. While playing by the East Sea, she drowned and never returned, transforming into Jingwei. The bird would often carry twigs and stones from the western mountains to the East Sea, determined to fill it.
For a small bird, filling the sea in this manner is an immense task. Yet, its unwavering determination and tenacity are truly commendable.
