Grown-Up Words |

English Original

A group of first-graders, having just moved up from kindergarten, were encouraged by their teacher to use "grown-up words." She asked them to share their summer activities.

The first child said, "I went to see my Nana."
"No," the teacher corrected. "You went to see your grandmother. Use the grown-up word."

The second child said, "I went on a trip on a choo-choo train."
"No," the teacher said again. "You went on a trip on a train. That's the grown-up word."

Finally, she asked the third child. He proudly announced, "I read a book!"
"What book did you read?" the teacher inquired.
The child puffed out his chest and replied in his most adult voice, "Winnie the Shit!"

(Winnie the Shit)!
