A lady and her son, who was about 10 years old, came to buy pond fish from me one day. After I packed her chosen fish, I needed to write a price label and stick it on the bag, but I couldn't find a pen.
"Do you have a pen?" I asked the lady.
"I'm afraid not," she replied. She opened her handbag and reached inside with her right hand, searching for one.
I waited and watched her. Her son did the same.
A moment later, she suddenly declared, a bit loudly, "I have no pen, but I have a pistol!" Like an actress, she pulled out a pistol and pointed it at me before I could react.
"It's my toy pistol!" her son shouted loudly at her.
