English Original
A man carved an idol and took it to the fair. When no one bought it, he began to shout to canvass for customers.
He claimed the idol could bring wealth and good luck. A bystander said to him, "My friend, if that's true, you should enjoy its benefits yourself. Why sell it?"
The seller replied, "What I want is immediate cash. The idol's profits come too slowly."
This story illustrates that those who seek profit by hook or crook show no respect, even for the divine.
