Late one night, Jim let his dog out. After watching TV, he went to let the dog back in. To his horror, the dog had his neighbor's dead cat in its mouth. "Bad dog!" Jim panicked.
Unable to face his neighbor, Jim decided to clean the cat and place it on the neighbor's porch. He spent a long time in the bathroom, washing the cat four times until it was spotless. He blow-dried and brushed its white fur, then put its collar back on. Under cover of darkness, he sneaked into the neighbor's yard and laid the cat by the front door.
The next morning, as Jim headed to his car, his neighbor greeted him. "Something weird happened last night," the neighbor said. Jim, now sweating, asked what it was.
"Well," the neighbor replied, "my cat died yesterday. We buried him. But this morning, he was lying on my front porch!"
