In the field, there lived a small animal called the flying squirrel.
It would boast to everyone it met: "I have mastered five skills: flying, walking, swimming, climbing trees, and digging holes in the ground."
Its friends, however, would laugh at it, saying: "You have learned these skills, but mastered none. You can fly, but not high; you can swim, but not far; you can climb trees, but not to the treetop; you can dig holes, but not deep enough."
Hearing this, the flying squirrel ran away in anger.
Indeed, the flying squirrel had learned five skills, but when put to use, none were effective. How could these be called true mastery?
