As the sun rose, I went out to enjoy the beauty of the grassland. On the way, I saw a pair of red flowers in full bloom. Their flat petals held a smiling, vibrant beauty. Gazing at them stirred many thoughts.
Dewdrops, like pearls, shone brightly on the grass. Sunbeams offered happiness. I stood for a long time, enjoying the pleasant sunshine as butterflies and bees flew about. Then, some children with sticks arrived. One child swung his stick at the flowers. Many petals fell to the earth, and with them, my heart fell too.
The next day, the red flowers by the road were even brighter. Their resilient beauty made me gasp. It taught me that the energy of growth and youth cannot be destroyed by a heartless stick. I longed to possess the soul of a flower.
Later, an old woman and a child approached. The child quickly plucked one of the flowers. I felt a wave of horror, then heard the old woman say, "What beautiful flowers. Don't pick them." The following day, the flowers were gone. The grass and leaves on the ground were nearly dried up. I was left in a world of great sorrow.
