English Original
A little boy desperately needed $50 and prayed for weeks, but nothing happened. He then decided to write a letter to God, requesting the money.
When the post office received the letter addressed to God, they forwarded it to the President. Amused, the President instructed his secretary to send the boy a $5 bill, thinking it would seem like a large sum to a child.
The boy was delighted with the $5. He sat down to write a thank-you note to God:
Dear God,
Thank you very much for sending the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you sent it through Washington, D.C., and, as usual, those turkeys kept $45 in taxes.
