Long ago, there lived a huge monster. It resembled a human but had a massive, hairy body and a single eye in the middle of its forehead.
People were terrified of this monster because it devoured humans. They avoided the woods where it dwelled.
One day, a young hunter ventured into those very woods, unaware of the monster's presence. He suddenly encountered the creature.
The brave hunter drew his arrow and shot the monster. The monster felt no pain and attacked. "How can he be unharmed?" thought the hunter. He fired several more arrows, but the monster was not injured at all. The hunter had only one arrow left.
"That monster must have a weak spot," he realized. "Right! It must be that eye." He aimed his last arrow at the monster's eye. The arrow struck true. The monster screamed and fell. The hunter had barely defeated it and then understood this was the feared monster.
"This monster must be burned so it can never harm people again," the hunter decided. He built a fire and reduced the monster to ashes. Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the ashes transformed into an insect.
The insect attacked the hunter, sucking his blood. The hunter fled. The ashes had become a mosquito, a pest that still bothers us on hot summer days.
