A man was driving home late one night. As he passed a pumpkin patch, an unusual idea crossed his mind. He pulled over, selected a pumpkin, and proceeded to engage with it intimately. So engrossed was he that he failed to notice a police car approaching.
The officer walked over and said, "Excuse me, sir, but do you realize what you're doing?"
The man, thinking quickly, looked up in feigned surprise and replied, "A pumpkin? Goodness, is it midnight already?"
