The Brick Test | 砖块测试

English Original

The Brick Test

A humorous method for assessing new hires:

  1. Place 400 bricks in a closed room.
  2. Put the new hires inside and close the door.
  3. Leave them alone for six hours.
  4. Return and analyze their behavior:

    • If they are counting the bricks, assign them to Accounting.
    • If they are recounting them, assign them to Auditing.
    • If they have created a mess with the bricks, assign them to Engineering.
    • If they are arranging bricks in a peculiar order, assign them to Planning.
    • If they are throwing bricks at each other, assign them to Operations.
    • If they are sleeping, assign them to Security.
    • If they have broken the bricks into pieces, assign them to Information Technology.
    • If they are sitting idle, assign them to Human Resources.
    • If they claim to have tried various combinations but haven't moved a brick, assign them to Sales.
    • If they have already left for the day, assign them to Management.
    • If they are staring out the window, assign them to Strategic Planning.
    • If they are talking without moving a single brick, congratulate them and assign them to Top Management.
    • Finally, if they have barricaded themselves with bricks, becoming invisible and inaudible, assign them to Congress.
